Is New York Menswear More Exciting Than New York Womenswear?

Let's face facts: It's been a while since a new womenswear designer got everyone in New York well and truly excited. And with no particular buzz accumulating on the estro-end of things again this season, we find ourselves gazing enviously over the gender divide at the men's fashion scene. New York fashion week keeps adding interesting new menswear designers—last season, Tim Coppens was the fresh face causing a commotion. This time around, we're keeping an eye on Greg Armas' Assembly. Web sites like Oki-Ni, LN-CC, and Mr Porter have shown that there's a market online for fashion-forward designer menswear. A dynamic community of menswear-focused bloggers, Tumblrs, and tweeters has emerged. The dudes are energized!

The Seattle Fashion Week 2011 schedule of events is up and tickets are going on sales NOW!!!

For the complete events listing and ticket information, please visit www.SeattleFW.com Between May 4-15, Seattle Fashion Week will have various types of events such as, movie screening, spring trunk show, buyers only event, press only event, concert, music album release party and of course, fashion show. This year's SFW2011 main fashion shows are going to take place at Seattle's updated historic theater, the King Cat Theater.

SFW2011 will be hosting the hottest collections for your viewing pleasure. Thursday May 12, kicks off with Men's Fashion Night with special hosts Brooke and Jubal from Movin 92.5. Come out and ogle designs from Avva, Built For Man (Seattle, WA), Darkheart Eco Apparel (Bellingham, WA), Dorsia, The Finerie (Seattle, WA), Jordan Klein (Los Angeles, CA), Moods for Norway (Norway), Voss Rock (Seattle, WA) and more.

Friday Night is Finale Night with special host Lily Jang From Q13 Fox. This evening will showcase a full range of collections by Abi Ferrin (Dallas, Texas), Alexandra Parry (New York), Anna Dicklhuber, (Seattle, WA), Elmidae, The Finerie (Seattle, WA), Heili Aun Nalla (Seattle, WA), House of Isaac Andrew (Seattle, WA), Madina Vadache (New York/Seattle), Yoana Baraschi (New York) and more.*

Executive Producer, Blair-Nichole Sams Director of Production and Marketing and Jose Luis Smith Director of Entertainment and Music.

For 2011 we are looking to showcase Seattle designers for the industry to see, and bring national & international designs to Seattle. Currently
we are still accepting applications from Designers and Boutiques, Sponsors, Models and Volunteers for the May 2011 events. If you are
