Swimwear Collections 2012

Mercedes-Benz Miami-Swim rocked the runway in Miami. On Thursday July 14, 2011 Diesel kicked off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2012 with Kristin Cavallari wearing the world’s first glass bikini, designed by Diesel and inspired by SKYY® Vodka’s iconic cobalt blue glass bottle. A.Ché's swimwear collection done in bold animal printed monokini's and bikinis were done with exqusite detail. And Aqua di Lara beautifully designed collection took center stage featuring various unique swimwear cover-ups. Spain’s pre-eminent swimwear designer Dolores Font Cortes showcased her 2012 collection, this is the designers second time showing with IMG. NYC-based designer Mara Hoffman, known for her colorful, bohemian Ready-to-Wear and Swimwear collections,

showed her outstanding new Resort 2012 collection. Designer Paola Robba, designer of Poko Pano, presented his Spring/Summer 2012 collection inspired by Brazil and its traditional colors, symbols, plant and wildlife. The 40-piece collection of swimwear and beach apparel is inspired by a timeless theme of the Amazon’s natural surroundings and includes bikinis, kaftans, mini dresses, shirts, skirts and pantaloon pants. Since its launch in 2004, Beach Bunny has become an international sensation causing a frenzy with its definitive luxury swimwear and ready to wear collection that captures the California lifestyle and appeals to glamorous girls across the globe who just want to have fun. Beach Bunny featured their Cruise 2012 collection in addition to their brand new Beach Bunny Bride line - the first ever bridal swimwear collection. L*SPACE by Monica Wise, created luxurious swimwear with sexy silhouettes and flattering fits and Wildfox Couture unveiled its debut swimwear collection.

MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK BERLIN CONTINUES TO GROW
STRASSE DES 17. JUNI AT BRANDENBURG GATE CONFIRMED AS NEW LOCATION

On July 06 – 09, 2011 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin will stage its ninth season. The Spring/Summer 2012 collections will be presented in a tent on “Strasse des 17. Juni”, with its main entrance facing the city’s most famous landmark: Brandenburg Gate.

„We are thrilled to confirm this very prestigious location for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin,“ said Peter Levy, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of IMG Fashion. „The return to Brandenburg Gate and the opportunity for growth is a great next step for fashion in Berlin. The support of the city of Berlin in providing such a premier location, shows that creativity and fashion as a cultural artifact play a big role for the German capital.“

In addition to the already well-known catwalk venue, for the first time there will be a presentation space, the Studio, where designers can give free rein to their creativity without being bound to a classic catwalk. The Studio opens the possibility to build unique scenery, and allow the professional audience to roam freely; giving them the opportunity to view the collection up close. Due to this addition to the structure, the number of designers participating will continue to grow.

“For emerging talent, the Studio can be a first step to present their work to media, buyers and key fashion influencers,” explained Levy. “Also for established brands that would like to vary from a classic catwalk concept, and find a unique way that is more personal to showcase their collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, the Studio is the perfect fit.“
