Style Fashion Week LA, rocked the fashion world on October 17th, 2011, their opening of LA Fashion Week would be the prelude of the hottest new collections for Spring/Summer 2012. Each show was laced in the theatrical beauty of the Vibana, gorgeous models, and wine. “Stop Staring” choreographed their show to honor Amy Winehouse with music from Frank and Back to Black, “California Dreaming” featured a performance of Broadway’s 42nd Street and Stand and Deliver ripped the runway with a rock-star entrance, a synchronized street fight and a topless finale! Style Fashion Week has positioned Los Angeles back into the global field of the International Fashion Week. I looked forward to every show, anxiously waiting for the next designer to hit the runway. It became apparent that this season would be different from previous seasons, the audience was filled with buyers, celebrities, fashion editors and bloggers from New York and Los Angeles. Style Fashion Week was a huge success with the support of their amazing sponsors: Warren Tricomi, VoCe Haircare, Napoleon Perdis, Bijou Tresor, Clarisonic, Pop Chips, Bliss Spa, Vuka, Vnc, Monster Energy Drink, Asombroso, Fashion Delivers, Tash Folds by Tash Limited, Madison Park, Shibue Couture, Sapporo USA and Alejandra G.

Day 1 - Monday October 17th, 2011
“Nicolita” Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. Chocolate brown asymmetrical one piece Maillot swimwear. Accented String bikini tops with asymmetrical side string bottoms and Bandeaus in light colors of yellow, baby blue, pink and brown and white stripes, trimmed in flounce ruffles. Nicolita premiered a beautiful collection, the finale showcased a nautical collection featuring red white and blue and white stripes coordinated with blue and white striped accents, stylized high-waisted sailor boy-cut bottoms, detailed double buttoned front openings accented with gold buttons. Known for its focus on conservative sexy and curve-conscious styles, combined with a blend of a vintage glamour and modern silhouettes, Nicolita Swimwear is set to heated things up on October 17th for Style Fashion Week‟s opening night. Designer, Nicole Di Rocco, will showcase her 2012 collection “Con Sabor Tropical!” and will complete each sultry look with eye-catching designs from Chinese Laundry shoes. Nicolita has become a celebrity favorite; A-listers including Beyonce, Kristen Cavallari, Rihanna, Tori Spelling and Britney Spears are among customers of the brand. Nicolita has set itself apart in the swimwear industry with a signature fit of “Cuban-style swimwear bottoms” designed for the curvaceous Latina figure. “Cuban-style bottoms are designed with more coverage on the hips, a heart-shaped backside and. no-pinch‟ fit elastic.”

Day 2 - Tuesday October 18th, 2011 “Stop Staring “ I can’t stop staring, the essence of this collection touches the sensual desire of a woman. The collection is reminiscence of the 1940’s . Consisting of rompers, jumper suits, halters, full skirts, fitted dresses, high-waist shorts and pant suits. Every piece in this collection is a must have for spring/summer 2012. Stop Staring! will revealed a new collection of retro-inspired dresses that have an über-feminine, vintage feel. Alicia Estrada, head designer and founder of the Stop Staring! Collection, lover of all things vintage. She continually incorporates the details of yesteryear into her beautiful and flattering retro-contemporary dresses and separates. Her unique designs have been donned by on glamorous celebrities such Zooey Deschanel, Kim Kardashian, Dita Von Teese, Ali Larter, Paris Hilton and Nicole Kidman. Following its namesake, Stop Staring! will ensure that your gaze stops when its line of curve-hugging looks takes on Fashion Week.
Alternative Apparel lifestyle brand screams buy me now, you know you want me! When I saw this collection I imaged myself hanging out it the beach wearing a Alternative Apparel two-piece or one of their long-sleeve scoop neck tee with a pair jeans. Its line, “Oasis of Color, will featured rich textures, sun-bleached desert washes, bold prints and a vibrant color palette.” Expect to see “asymmetrical maxi-dresses and high-waisted mini-skirts in colorful prints, as well as a selection of must-have novelty pieces for women, including sheer, mesh tanks, cut-out sweatshirts and beaded Baja Cloth ponchos.” Alternative Apparel also produces a men's line that will offer “breezy Baja Woven's in hoodies, shorts, and button-downs” for spring.
