This event will highlight issues that face our apparel industry sector including retailers, and what they anticipate happening in the next ten years. The Fashion Business Incorporated (501c3 non profit): www.fashionbizinc.org has been commissioned by LA DWP to do a study in partnership with Cal Poly Pomona to help understand what the city could do to assist in retaining the industry to create and retain jobs here. As you know the apparel industry in California is the largest revenue producer of any apparel sector globally. This study will consist of two types of studies, which will then be analyzed and a report will be generated on the results. The first will be an online Survey Monkey that we will send to our 18,000 data base. The other will comprise of face to face interviews with key individuals and companies that understand the issues they are facing.

I would like to invite you to our event on the 8th Dec. at the California Market Center, Fashion Theater. We have already a commitment from Trina Turk and Lonnie Kane of Karen Kane, both key fashion industry manufactures and are waiting to get confirmation from other major players of our industry. The panel will also include, Karolynne Sprouse VP of marketing from MAGIC International, legal and financial representatives .
